Issue 5:
"One of the most varied and rewarding publications available in the UK Small Press.”
Peter Tennant – Whispers of Wickedness
“MS has certainly made a quantum leap in terms of production values -- plus a really striking cover. It does look very good.”
Tim Lees
“I was handed a copy of the mag plus bib at the convention (FantasyCon 2005). It looks terrific and I'm looking forward to reading it. In fact, people were coming up to me at the con and saying how much they were enjoying the bibliography as Tony's anecdotal approach made the booklet entertaining in its own right.”
Simon Clark
“All in all, well worth having renewed my subscription. TTA can't afford to let down its guard yet!”
Steve Redwood
Issue 6:
“You've done a wonderful job with your selections this time around.”
Cathy Buburuz
“This latest issue of Midnight Street, with fifty A4 pages chockfull of a wide variety of fiction, poetry, and interviews, continues to do the small press proud.”
Steve Redwood – Whispers of Wickedness
“The Winter issue of Midnight Street continues the magazine’s successful mix of well-written genre and dark mainstream/literary stories and poetry. This issue has some particularly strong writing.”
Kara Kellar Bell - Laura Hird site
“With full color covers by South African resident Liz Clarke, (her back cover art is more impressive than her cover illustration) and an impressive line-up of writers, this issue of Midnight Street is more than worthy of your attention and your hard-earned dollars. Not only does editor Trevor Denyer deserve praise for his selections, he’s done a wonderful job with the reader-friendly design and layout. Send him some well concealed cash today and tell him Cathy Buburuz sent you…he’ll treat you like royalty.”
Cathy Buburuz - samsdotpublishing site
“With the horror market still depressed and the market for short stories non-existent, zines such as these (and there seem few of them these days) are essential reading.....The quality of the stories is excellent throughout.....Highly recommended.”
Fanzine Fanatique
“Just completed issue 6, and thoroughly enjoyed it. The featured writer's works were, of course, the stand-out; especially the lead story. "What Malcolm Did." Paul Finch 's "Evil Monsters" had a good build up bit it was too much of a shaggy dog story - if you're going to tell a story like that, you have to be really, really on the button, and the ending was not the punchline it should have been. The Grass is Always Greener" was a fascinating work, a marvellous idea written in an engrossing way that had me laughing on the train on the way to work. Wicked. My only complaint is that the Mystic's Bardo column is too short!”
John Paul Catton
Issue 8:
" The magazine looks great, of course!"
Nick Jackson
"We are proud to be showcased in such a handsome publication."
Len Maynard and Mick Sims
"I've just received my copy of Midnight Street - Journeys into Darkness, and what a gorgeous production it is! The front cover is absolutely fantastic, a really impressive and eye-catching piece of work that just makes you want to pick up and open the magazine."
David Gullen
"Midnight Street is an awesome magazine, high in entertainment, diverse in content, with a reader-friendly layout and design. It's no small wonder that so many artists and writers constantly compete for space in this fine magazine."
Cathy Buburuz, Editor of Champagne Shivers, Expressions, and the Potter's Field anthologies
Issue 9:
"Midnight Street is a magazine that’s too good to miss!"
Simon Clark
Issue 10:
"Thanks very much for the latest Midnight Street. A great production and a terrific read. I really did enjoy the Steve Gallagher interview, Alan Ashley's column. I'll see Big Brother in a new light, and now I'm looking forward to reading the fiction. BTW The Mystic's Bardo was a fascinatingly quirky piece and made a nice addition to the mag."
Simon Clark
"Thanks for the awesome job you did with the layout of my poem with accompanying illustration by Charles Fallis. It's always a profound pleasure to appear in Midnight Street."
Cathy Buburuz
Issue 11:
" The quality of the stories is particularly fine in this issue. David Penn's story and Andrew Hook's both knocked my socks off."
Nick Jackson
Issue 15 (PDF download):
"I love getting published (who doesn't?), but there's always that added bit of prestige when the publication is Midnight Street. Your magazine is very highly regarded, on both sides of the Atlantic."
Ralph Robert Moore
